GRAPEVINE LAKE PORTRAIT SESSION | DFW PHOTOGRAPHER

Sometimes the best sessions happen when we stop trying to make everything perfect and just create.

For this portrait session at Grapevine Lake, we kept things simple: a beautiful dress, evening light, wind, water and plenty of room to play. We started along the shoreline and eventually made our way into the lake, letting the movement of the water and the dress become part of the photographs.

The result was exactly the kind of session I love — natural, a little moody, feminine and completely different from a traditional portrait session.

You Don't Need a Reason to Book a Portrait Session

One of my favorite things about photographing women is showing them that you don't need a milestone or special occasion to get in front of the camera.

This wasn't a senior session, maternity session or engagement session. It was simply an opportunity to create something beautiful.

And honestly, I think we need more of that.

If you've ever wanted photos that feel a little more adventurous or cinematic, a lake session gives us so much to work with. Bare feet in the sand, movement in your dress, reflections on the water, wind in your hair and that gorgeous Texas evening light all make every session a little different.

And yes, if you're willing, we'll probably end up in the water.

Lake Photo Sessions in the DFW Area

Being an Arlington, Texas photographer puts me within easy reach of some incredible outdoor locations throughout DFW. Grapevine Lake is one of those places that can completely change depending on the light, weather and area of shoreline we choose.

That's also why I don't want every session to look exactly the same.

We'll talk about what you're envisioning, what you want to wear and how you want your photos to feel. From there, I'll help choose a location and plan the session around you.

You don't have to know how to pose. You don't have to be comfortable in front of a camera. And you definitely don't need to show up knowing what to do.
